Article Brain Chemical Imbalance Symptoms

Quote "Healthy people possess levels of brain chemicals that lie within a certain normal range. When internal or external factors either deplete the brain of these chemicals or stimulate it to produce excess amounts, a chemical imbalance occurs. Imbalances in the brain's chemistry can give rise to mood disorders, learning disabilities, substance abuse and muscle weakness. The most easily noticeable imbalances in the brain's chemistry are imbalances in neurotransmitters that function as stimulants or inhibitors in the neurological system."

Article Depression

Quote "One of the causes of depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Three important neurotransmitters in the brain are norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. These neurotransmitters must be in a state of balance. If the chemicals are imbalanced it is believed that depression can set in.  These chemical imbalances could be passed on genetically, but you can also have family members that have suffered from depression without developing depression yourself."
